Zane Holland is the only baseball player to be selected as an All-Conference/All-District 25 performer all four years as a Hawk. His freshman year, he was selected as an All-Conference outfielder before being selected in his next three years as a pitcher. In 1975, Holland composed a 9-2 record and a 1.15 ERA in 94 innings pitched.

For his career he posted over 20 victories and had an ERA no higher the 1.72 for a season which established Holland as one of the best pitchers ever at Shorter. He was also a two-time All-Area 5 pick and twice during his career was selected as an NAIA All-American. During his four years, the Hawks won four straight conference championships and two District 25 titles.
