A two-year standout for the Shorter men’s basketball team, Lennie Acuff graduated in 1988 as Shorter’s all-time leader in assists (607) and assists per game (8.9). In his junior and senior seasons, Acuff led the Georgia Athletic Conference and ranked in the top 10 in the NAIA in assists. In 1988, Acuff received the Robert G. Walther, Jr. Athletic Award.

Acuff currently serves as the head coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he has transformed the Chargers from a program that had just one winning season in 16 years into a consistent winner and championship contender on the national level.
