Randy Hawkins was a three-time All-Conference/All-District 25 selection and a two-time All-Area 6 performer. One of the best hitters ever at Shorter, Hawkins was twice named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-America team in baseball.

For his career, he hit 34 home runs and had 134 RBI. His junior year, he hit 20 homers to go along with 51 RBI and a .328 batting average. Hawkins was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 1976. Hawkins helped lead the Hawks to four consecutive conference championships and back-to-back District 25 titles in his career.
