Larry Throgmorton (Men's Basketball and Baseball)

Larry “Frog” Throgmorton was a two-sport standout for Shorter in basketball and baseball. Throgmorton concluded his men’s basketball career at Shorter with 1,172 points and with the school’s single-game scoring record of 45 points. A 1971 graduate of the university, Throgmorton had a phenomenal senior season in 1970-71, leading the team and the GIAC at 24.3 points a game while shooting 92.9 percent from the foul line. A co-captain that season, Throgmorton earned All-Conference honors for the Hawks and set a school record with 599 field goal attempts. Throgmorton was named an NAIA honorable mention All-American in 1971. On the diamond, Throgmorton was a four-year letterman from 1967-71 and earned team Most Valuable Player honors in 1970.
