ROME--In a match that saw twelve tie scores and five lead changes, Shorter found itself on the losing end for the second straight time. In their first home game, and first conference game of the season volleyball fell to No. 17 West Florida, 3-0. Set scores were 25-17, 25-20, and 25-15 respectively.
The loss evens the Lady Hawks at 3-3 on the season, and 0-1 in Gulf South play. West Florida improves to 6-3 overall.
Anna Graham lead the Lady Hawks in kills with 9, while
Jasmine Crook added seven and
Elizabeth Dowd chipped in with six.
Dena Pierce, once again, dished out a team high 18 assists, and
Cheyenne Frady recorded 10.
The Lady Hawks had three members with double digit digs, as
Tanequa Whitman earned 16, Crook 15 and Dowd 10.
Shorter will be back in action tomorrow, September 21, as West Alabama comes to Winthrop-King Centre for a 2:00 PM start.
