2012
Last season, Whitman appeared in the 120 sets for the Lady Hawks; leading the team in both service aces (47) and digs (441).  

2011
In 2011, Whitman led the team in digs with 548.

High School
Tanequa was selected to the All-State first team for four consecutive years at Huntsville High School, She was named the school's Co-MVP as a senior. She also garnered Best Offensive Player and Best Defensive player honors at Huntsville High School. She was named the 2005 Prep Volleyball National Freshman of the Year. Most Valuable Player in 2005.  She was also named to All-area and All-Region Volleyball team for four consecutive years. She was also named to first team All-City for four straight years. Tanequa was top Sophomore of the Year. She was also selected to the North & South All-Star Volleyball Team her senior year. 
 
Personal
Born Tanequa Natassia Whitman on September 26, 1991 in Huntsville, Ala. Her parents are Carl and Ruthie Whitman. She has one sister, Tatiana(30). She is a Computer Information Systems major and hopes to work as an Information Security Tech and coach.

Why Shorter?
"Shorter is a small family oriented University, and that is what I love most about the University. By being at Shorter I grew stronger spiritually and academically and I think that was a big plus!"
