YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Shorter Volleyball earned its second consecutive straight-sets victory Wednesday night, defeating Young Harris 28-26, 25-14, 25-23 inside the Harp Recreation and Commencement Center.
The Hawks improve to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in conference play with the victory.
The opening set featured a back-and-forth battle from start to finish, with neither team able to create significant separation. Young Harris built a 22-19 lead late in the set, but Shorter responded to force a thrilling finish. After
Emily Drier recorded a kill to tie the set at 26-26, the Hawks scored the next two points to take the opening set.
The second set remained competitive early, with the teams tied at 10-10. Shorter then seized control, closing the set on a dominant 15-4 run to take a 2-0 match lead.
Young Harris again established an advantage in the third set, leading 20-16 late. The Hawks mounted another comeback, closing the match on a 10-4 run to secure their second consecutive sweep.
Caroline Sivills led the Hawks with 13 kills and 14.0 points, while Drier added 10 kills, 13.0 points and two blocks.
Helena Kelley contributed 18 assists and 15 digs in the victory.

Taylor Watson. "We have had great moments, and it has been awesome seeing freshmen step up and perform in big moments."
UP NEXT
The Hawks will return to Rome this Saturday as they welcome Chowan for a conference match. First serve is slated for 12 p.m.
