GREENVILLE, S.C.- Chelsy Singleton of the Shorter Women's Basketball team was recognized as Offensive Player of the Week by the Conference of the Carolinas as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
Singleton has been the driving force for the Shorter offense as of late, playing a major part in their six-game winning streak. In their win against North Greenville, Singleton totaled 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal off an efficient 7-of-15 (46.7%) including going 3-of-5 (60%) from behind-the-arc. Against Southern Wesleyan. she played the entire 40 minutes, scoring a career-high 24 points with five rebounds, three assists, and a career-high six steals. Singleton had her most efficient day this season for Shorter going 8-for-11 (72.7%) from the field to help the Hawks increase their win streak. Singleton has heated up after a slow start to the season, having eight straight games where she finished with double-figures.
Singleton and the Hawks will look to make it seven straight as they host King this Thursday at 5:30 PM.
