Carrollton, Ga.--Volleyball splits day two of the GSC/SSC Crossover Tournament with a straight set win over Nova Southeastern to start the day, and a 3-1 loss to Rollins College to end it.
Set scores against Nova were 25-15, 25-16, and 25-15. While Rollins topped the Lady Hawks with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-18, and 25-16; Shorter took set one.
The Lady Hawks move to 11-8 overall on the season.
In the morning win over the Sharks,
Jasmine Crook earned 13 kills, while
Anna Graham chipped in with 10 during the match.
Dena Pierce and
Cheyenne Frady recorded 15 and 14 assists, respectively.
In the afternoon match with Rollins,
Elizabeth Dowd recorded 10 kills, and Crook added 15 to her total for the day. Crook and Dowd posted double digit digs, as well, over the four sets with 14 and 10, respectively.
Pierce dished out 23 assists in the match, while Frady added 16.
The Lady Hawks will turn their attention back to the Gulf South Conference as they travel to Pensacola, Fla. to take on West Florida on September 25. Match is set to begin at 7:00pm.
