Softball Prepares for Season Finale at King on Saturday

ROME- The Shorter Hawks (13-34, 7-19 CC) will look to close out the 2026 campaign on a high note as they travel to Bristol, Tennessee, to face the King Tornado (26-24,12-12 CC) for a Saturday doubleheader series.

NOTES
  • The Hawks are looking to end their season on a high note with a series win after dropping both games in their home finale to Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday. 
  • Shorter has found great production from Madison Bishop in the circle, as she gave up just two runs and struck out five in game one on Wednesday. 
  • Rylee Gattis has been the focal point for the Shorter offense, hitting an efficient .370 with 51 hits and 16 RBI. 

SCOUTING THE TORNADO
  • King has had a solid 2026 season, going 26-24 overall.
  • The Tornado will face off against Lees-McRae on Friday for a doubleheader series before hosting the Hawks. 
  • King is currently third in the Northwest Division, hoping to climb up the standings with a win. 

SERIES INFORMATION
  • Shorter is 2-0 all-time against King, having last faced off in 2014 when the Hawks pulled away with an 11-3 win.
