- The Hawks earned their first conference win of the season with a 2-1 win over Erskine in game one of their series on Tuesday before dropping game two.
- Alex Hollingsworth delivered the winning run with a deep shot to center field to grant Shorter the victory.
- Hayden Joyner had a great showing in the circle, pitching a complete game while allowing just one earned run and four strikeouts.
- Shorter aims to maintain consistency batting-wise as well as in the circle.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
- Belmont Abbey enters Saturday at 7-11 overall and 1-1 in conference.
- The Crusaders split their conference-opening series to King last time out.
