Box Score CENTRAL, S.C.- The Shorter Softball team fell in their doubleheader to Southern Wesleyan this Saturday, falling 6-0 in game one before being defeated 8-0 in game two. The losses drop the Hawks to 11-28 overall and 5-13 in conference.
GAME ONE
The Hawks held the Warriors at bay in the opening frame, but they could not do the same in the second. The hosts found their rhythm, plating three runs in the bottom of the second to grab the early advantage. The Warriors continued to add on to their total, scoring three more runs as the Hawks fell in a 6-0 defeat in the first game of the afternoon.
GAME TWO
The Hawks, unfortunately, fell behind early in game two, giving up four runs in the first two innings. After holding the hosts scoreless in the next two inning, Shorter unfortunately gave up four more runs in the fifth, putting the game out of reach in an 8-0 defeat.
UP NEXT
The Hawks will continue their road stint and face off against conference opponent Erskine at 2:00 and 4:00 pm for a mid-week double header this Wednesday.
