ROME- The Shorter Hawks will return to Alto Park this weekend as they host Chowan on Friday and Barton on Saturday for a back-to-back doubleheader series. All games will be streamed on the CC Digital Network, and live stats will be available.

NOTES

• The Hawks are coming off a series split against Converse last time out in which they fell 2-1 in game one before responding with a 7-1 win in game two. 
• Shorter has found their most success at Alto Park this season, going 8-9 in Rome. 
• Rylee Gattis has been a consistent presence for Shorter, entering this weekend seventh in the conference in batting average at .413 overall. 
• Shorter looks to climb the Southwest standings of the conference as well as their division, as they are currently last in the standings. 
• The Hawks will honor eight of their seniors this Saturday on Senior Day. 

SCOUTING THE HAWKS

• Chowan has had a solid stretch, winning four of their last five. 
• The Hawks will face off against non-conference opponent Virginia Union on Wednesday before facing Shorter. 
• Abby Rutledge has been a force this season for Chowan in the circle, leading the conference with a 1.47 ERA and a 6-2 record with a WHIP of .78. 
• Chowan is third in the East standings with a 4-6 record in conference action. 

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

• Barton is looking to get back on track after dropping their last four. 
• The Bulldogs will face Mount Olive on Wednesday for a series before coming to Rome. 
• Madison Mercer will be a threat for Barton, as she enters the weekend at fourth in the conference in batting average at .434. 
• Barton sits at fifth in the East standings, looking to climb the ladder as the season progresses. 

SERIES HISTORY

• The Hawks fell to Chowan in their first-ever meeting last season in an 8-0 final. 
• This is the first meeting between Barton and Shorter.
