Softball Falls to North Greenville on the Road

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TIGERVILLE, S.C.- The Shorter Softball team fell in both games of their doubleheader series to North Greenville on Friday, dropping game one in a 7-0 defeat before falling in game two in an 11-1 final.

GAME ONE

The Trailblazers did damage in the opening frame, plating three runs to grab the early lead. Shorter continued to battle as the next few innings progressed, preventing the hosts from scoring. North Greenville eventually opened up their lead with a sac fly in the fifth before adding three more runs in the sixth as the Hawks fell in a 7-0 final.

GAME TWO

The hosts once again struck first in the second game of the afternoon, driving in a pair of runs in the first inning before four more touched home to make it 6-0 after two innings of work. After a quiet inning from both teams, the Hawks scored their first run of the afternoon as Rylee Gattis connected on a home run to put a dent in the lead. Unfortunately for Shorter, the Trailblazers' offense exploded for a five-run inning in the fourth to break open their lead. Shorter continued to fight, but it would not be enough as they fell in an 11-1 defeat.

UP NEXT

Shorter will have a quick turnaround as they face Converse on the road tomorrow for another conference series.
