GREENVILLE, S.C.- The Shorter Men's Basketball team was picked to finish 14th in the Conference Carolina's Preseason poll as announced by the league on Thursday. 
The Hawks received 44 points in the poll, just in front of Erskine (40) and Ferrum (27). UNC Pembroke took home the top spot with 225 points and 15 first-place votes. Young Harris (199) and Emmanuel (188) followed closely behind. 
Three Hawks were named to the conference's players to watch list. 
Donovan Shangase is looking to capitalize on an impressive sophomore campaign in which he averaged 15.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.9 steals, which was tied for first in the conference. Shangase is followed by senior forward 
Ja'Myas Davis. Davis was a strong contributor for Shorter last season, averaging 11.4 points, a team-leading 7.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Davis proved to be a three-level threat, shooting 47.4% from the field and 42.1% from three. 
Chris Bibbs rounds out the Hawks and is looking to replicate his success from last season. Bibbs averaged 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals in the 2024-25 season. Bibbs led the conference in field goal percentage with an astonishing 58.8% from the field and 47.1% from behind the arc. 
The Hawks are looking to have a strong 2025-26 season as head coach 
Wade Anderson brings in a talented recruiting class that will help mold Shorter for the foreseeable future.
