FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- The Shorter Men's Basketball team's season came to a close Sunday night in Franklin Springs as they fell to Barton in a 93-68 defeat.
The Bulldogs controlled the game from the opening tip, jumping out to a 10-2 run. The Hawks fought back, as
Donovan Shangase had a successful trip to the line, making it a 20-13 game at the 11:55 mark. Unfortunately for Shorter, Barton's offense exploded for a 20-3 run to break open the lead. Barton continued to put their foot on the gas, as the Hawks entered the break down 53-24.
The Hawks were much more efficient in the second frame, outscoring Barton 44-40. Despite their better half, the Bulldogs lead was too much for the Hawks to overcome, as they closed out their season in a 93-68 final.
Donovan Shangase led Shorter with 18 points and seven assists as
Chris Bibbs followed suit with 13 points and five rebounds. Aiden Nematbakhsh played valuable minutes off the bench, posting 11 points on a perfect 5-5 shooting.
