ROME, Ga. — The Men's Shorter University Hawks track and field team performed impressively at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee, on March 22-23. Elijah Williams won the 100-meter sprint in 10.32 seconds, with Dedric Gibbons coming in sixth at 10.69 seconds. Williams finished second in the 200m with a time of 21.07 seconds, while Gibbons came in tenth with 21.96. Erin Blount, Williams, Kamal Jabari, and Amir Garrison finished second in the 4x100m relay, clocking 41.83 seconds. Nakobi Spurrier showed flexibility by finishing fifth in shot put, fourteenth in discus and eighteenth in hammer throw. Chase Jarvis competed in the long jump, placing sixteenth. Williams' achievements placed him seventh nationally and first in the GSC in the 100m race, and tenth nationally and second in the 200m race.

ROME, Ga. — The Shorter University Hawks track and field team performed brilliantly in the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee, where they competed in a two-day relay. In the 100 meters, Nia Harris finished sixth with a time of 12.36, followed by Kameron Noble in seventh with 12.37, Madison Rose in eleventh with 12.43, and Treneice Grimes in eighteenth with 12.76. Harris finished sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 25.75, Noble eighth with 25.84, and Grimes tenth with 26.00. Kilaya Lucien finished seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.08, while Josalyn Brunch finished twenty in 1:04.80.Noble, Harris, Katie Jones, and Rose finished third in the 4x100 relay with a timing of 48.61. Madison Rose also participated in the long jump, finishing eleventh with a distance of 4.66 meters. Jovita Dave demonstrated her strength by placing sixth in shot put with a throw of 11.32 meters and fifth in hammer throw with 46.53 meters. Jayla Woods finished twentieth in the discus with a throw of 27.45 meters, rounding out the team's expanded abilities across many events.
