MOUNT BERRY, Ga.- The Shorter Hawks Men's and Women's Track and Field teams had solid showings at the Berry Ice Breaker Duals Saturday afternoon, with Nathaniel Williams earning a first-place victory in shot put and Savannah Welch earning a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash and 100-meter dash. 

On the men's side, multiple Hawks competed well in the field events, as Nathaniel Williams earned a first-place finish in the shot put in all heats with an impressive distance of 16.07 meters. Landon Richardson battled in the high jump, finishing ninth at 1.76 meters. For the women, Jenna Rolen earned a third-place finish in pole vault with a height of 3.07 meters. 

In the track events, both teams had multiple quality finishes, with Savannah Welch earning a first-place finish in both the 200-meter dash and 100-meter dash. Welch scorched her heat with a time of 24.75 seconds in the 200, the fastest in all heats. In the 100-meter race, Welch posted a time of 12.14 seconds. Tracy Yelegoiyee was not far behind, placing fifth with a time of 25.88 seconds in the 200-meter race. Yelegoiyee kept things moving, earning a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.55. In the Men's 4x400 Meter, the Hawks A Team of Cameron Yeary, Ronderius Gray, Bonshavior Bean, and Landon Richardson finished fifth with a time of 3:26.20.
