MOUNT BERRY, Ga.- The Shorter Men's and Women's Track and Field team had solid showings in the Berry Field Day Invitational from April 9-11 with the men placing eighth overall and the women tenth, with several quality finishes across the board.
THURSDAY
The men placed multiple quality finishes in the decathlon event on Thursday.
Chase Jarvis finished second overall with his best finishes coming in long jump (1st with a distance of 6.10 meters), high jump (2nd with a height of 1.62 meters), and the 400-Meter Dash ( 2nd with a time of 53.24 seconds).
FRIDAY
Chase Jarvis continued to perform well on day two, with a first-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:56.85 and a second-place finish in the javelin throw with a distance of 34.68 meters.
SATURDAY
The men recorded several solid finishes on the final day, with Bonshavior Bean placing fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.35 seconds followed by
Ronderius Gray who finished 20th with a time of 50.16 seconds. In the 100-meter dash,
Cameron Yeary finished third with a time of 10.77 seconds while also finishing eight in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.51 seconds.
Tracy Yelegoiyee continues her dominant season with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash at 12.74 seconds and a 9th place finish in the 200-meter dash at 26.28 seconds.
