BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - Shorter University Men's Track & Field receives Gulf South Conference honors. Elliott Cummings was named 2019 GSC Freshman of the Year. 

Cummings a native of Lawrenceville, GA, had a standout freshman season. He put up his best times in the 100 meters and 200 meters in his final two regular season tournaments. Cummings finished 1st in the 100 meters at the Don McGarey Invitational with his best time of 10.24 and he placed 4th in the 200 meters at the GSC Track & Field Championships with his best time of 21.33. 

At the GSC Track & Field Championships, Cummings also placed 1st in the 100 meters with a time of 10.62 and placed 3rd in the 4x100 with a time of 41.67. 

Cummings is currently ranked #2 in the nation in NCAA II, in the 100 meter dash. He will be competing in the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship, May 23-25 in Kingsville, TX.
