Box Score Pensacola, Fla.--Softball extended its streak to eleven with a 3-2 win over West Florida Sunday afternoon.
The win improves the Lady Hawks to 29-9 on the season and 17-4 in conference play.
Shorter got on the board in the first inning as
Ericka Bynum singled to plate
Jackie Castaneda. The Argos, answered in the bottom of the inning with two runs to take the lead.
In the fifth, the Lady Hawks regained the lead and ultimately the win as
Megan Christensen singled to plate
Ciera Champion and
Tori Etheridge; who both entered the game as pinch runners.
Maddie Bray earned her sixth win of the season; pitching the complete game en route of the win. Over seven innings she allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Taylor Bailey recorded the loss, allowing three runs – two earned – on six hits with four strikeouts over seven innings.
Bynum led Shorter with two hits and an RBI in the game, while Christensen recorded one hit and two RBI on the day.
The Lady Hawks will be back in action Wednesday afternoon at Young Harris with a doubleheader beginning at 4pm. They will return home Friday to begin a three game series with Delta State; Friday's doubleheader is set to begin at 1pm.
