Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Shorter Hawks were given a dose of payback when the hot-shooting Alabama-Huntsville Chargers, who dropped their first meeting with Shorter in Rome last month, coasted to a 108-70 Gulf South Conference decision Thursday night.
The Hawks, who return home Sunday to host GSC foe West Alabama at 4 p.m. at the Winthrop-King Centre, call to 8-13 overall and 5-10 in the conference.
Shorter, which trailed from start to finish, saw the Chargers (13-9, 9-6) turned in a solid performance as UAH ended the night hitting 65 percent of its shots from the floor, the biggest damage coming from beyond the three-point arc where the Chargers canned a remarkable 22 of 35 attempts (63 percent.)
Alabama-Huntsville, which raced out to a 53-32 halftime lead, also outmanned the Hawks outscoring Shorter 41-10 off the bench.
Brandon Pullman led the Hawks with 21 points,
Jordan Jacks added 17 points and 9 rebounds and
Dedric Ware had 12 points.
Travis Jones, who averages in double figures but was injured in last week's game againsty Delta State, did not play.
Five UAH players wound up scoring in double figures with Wayne Dedrick leading the way with a game-high 25 points.
