ROME- The Shorter Hawks prepare for their series finale this weekend as they travel to Central, South Carolina, to face off against Southern Wesleyan beginning on Friday at 5:00 PM, with games two and three being played on Saturday, respectively, at 1:00 and 4:00 PM.
NOTES
- The Hawks suffered a 19-9 loss against Carson-Newman last time out in their non-conference finale.
- Shorter is looking to end their 2026 campaign on a positive note with a series win against the Warriors.
- Shorter's offense remains prolific, proving to be one of the best in the country in the long ball department with 58 home runs as a team.
- Southern Wesleyan has had a rough stretch as of late, dropping seven of their last eight.
- SWU has struggled to defend home turf this season, entering this weekend at 3-16 overall at Dr. C Keith Connor Field
- Shorter is 14-5 all-time against SWU, defeating them 19-5 in their most recent face-off in 2025.
WARRIORS TO WATCH OUT FOR
- The Warriors will rely heavily on Ethan Shimmel, who leads the team in batting average (.354), RBI (53), and home runs (9).
- Coleman Wylie boasts one of the better arms for the Warriors with a 4.40 ERA in 15 appearances with a team-leading 29 strikeouts.
