ROME- The Shorter Hawks (15-23, 6-21 CC) take the road this weekend as they face Mount Olive (23-18, 15-12 CC) for a weekend series beginning on Friday at 4:00 PM, with games two and three being played on Saturday at noon. All games will be streamed to the CC Digital Network and live stats will be available.

NOTES
  • Shorter has gone 3-1 in their last four, picking up a series win over Chowan this past weekend before defeating Middle Georgia State 7-4 on Tuesday.
  • Micah Shipman had a historic performance for the Hawks against MGA, going 4-4 with three home runs and five RBI. Shipman's three bombs are the most recorded in the Division II era for the Hawks.
  • The Hawks' bullpen was on full display against Middle Georgia, with several arms stepping up and shutting down the Knights.
  • Mount Olive has had a solid 2026 campaign, going 23-18 with a 15-12 conference record. The Trojans have been on a tear, winning eight of their last nine including an 8-5 win over Catawba last time out.
  • The Trojans will rely heavily on Jakhari Howard for production. Howard leads the team with a .408 batting average as well as 60 hits and 33 RBI. Lane McLean will be another threat for Mount Olive, leading the team with eight home runs.
  • Aidan Newton has become a reliable presence out of the bullpen, entering this weekend with a 5-2 record and a 3.23 ERA. Newton leads the team with 61 strikeouts with opponents hitting just .238 against him.
  • Shorter is 2-1 all-time against the Trojans, winning the series last season.
