Women's Tennis Bounces Back with Dominant Showing Against ABAC

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Shorter Women's Tennis team earned a 6-1 win over ABAC Saturday afternoon. 

 

 The Hawks dominated in doubles, as Lady Ester Villanueva and Sofia Arellano opened with a 6-2 win, followed by a 7-5 win from Sharick Guiza Hernandez and Laura Martin, securing the point. 

 

Shorter carried that momentum into singles, as Sharick Güiza picked up a straight-set victory, 6-1, 6-1. Sofia Arellano followed with a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Villanueva continued the strike, winning 6-2, 6-2. Closing the lineup was Laura Martin, who battled for more than two straight hours, earning a 7-5, 7-5 win.

UP NEXT

The Hawks will open conference play next week as they host Erskine on March 14.
