ROME, Ga. – The Shorter Women's Tennis team fell to Young Harris Friday afternoon in a 5-2 defeat at the Walt Attaway Tennis Complex. The loss drops the Hawks to 9-10 overall.
The Hawks battled in doubles play but were unable to secure the opening point, as the Mountain Lions swept all three matches to take an early 1-0 advantage.
Shorter responded in singles action with a pair of strong performances. Sofia Arellano picked up a win in the No. 2 position, while Lady Villenueva added another victory at No. 3 singles to account for the Hawks' two points on the day.
Despite those efforts, Young Harris claimed the remaining singles matches to secure the 5-2 team victory.
