ROME, Ga. – The Shorter Women's Tennis team fell to Converse University Saturday afternoon in a 5-2 defeat. The loss drops the Hawks to 9-11 overall.

The Hawks struggled in doubles play, dropping all three matches as Converse claimed the early 1-0 advantage with wins by scores of 6-1, 6-1, and 6-3.

In singles action, Sofia Arellano and Lady Villanueva each earned victories for Shorter, providing the Hawks' two points on the day. Despite those efforts, Converse controlled the remaining matches in singles play to secure the 5-2  win.
