ROME- After a dominant showing against non-conference Morehouse on Tuesday, the Hawks are back in the win column as they prepare to host the King Tornado for their fourth series of conference play this weekend. Shorter is looking to improve upon their 0-9 conference record, and carry with them the momentum gained after Tuesday's three-homer game and dominant bullpen pitching that resulted in a 16-5 Hawks win.
The Hawks will host the Tornado at Robert E. Ledbetter Baseball Complex this weekend. Game one will commence on Friday, March 6th at 12:00 p.m. EST, with Games two and three taking place on March 7th at 12:00 p.m. EST and 3:00 p.m. EST, respectively. All games will have live stats available via StatBroadcast and will be streamed on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network.
SCOUTING THE TORNADO:
- King enters the Hill Friday on a two-game losing streak, sitting at 6-12 overall and 5-4 in conference play while going 3-9 on the road this year.
- Shorter is 2-1 all-time against King, taking their most recent victory in a 9-4 final on February 23, 2025.
- King dropped their most recent contest on the road against non-conference opponent Tusculum in an 11-8 final.
KING PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR
- One player for King to look out for is Kale Richardson, who leads in average (.397), slugging (.690), home runs (4), and RBI (18) while collecting a team-high 40 bases all season.
