Box Score ROME- The Shorter Men's Tennis team snapped their nine-match losing streak on Tuesday with a dominating 6-1 win over Gadsden State. The win improves the Hawks to 2-10 overall.
The Hawks were unstoppable in doubles, sweeping the visitors.
Agustin Yap and
Guido Loayza earned a 6-1 win in the #1 position before Kalle Johnasson and Carlos Tubio claimed the doubles point with a clean 6-0 sweep in the #2 spot.
Kamron Palacios and
Thatcher Wilbanks added some insurance in the #3 line with a 6-0 win.
Shorter's energy carried into singles, as Tubio earned a 6-4, 6-2 win in the #1 spot. Loayaza followed in the #2 line with a 6-1, 6-1 win as Johansson defeated his opponent in the #3 position 6-1, 6-2.
Bailey Liu and Palacios rounded out the day for the Hawks, with Liu earning a 6-3, 6-3 win in the #4 line and Martin cruising to a 6-3, 6-1 in the #5 spot.
