ROME, Ga. – The Shorter Men's Tennis team fell to Converse University Saturday afternoon in a 5-2 defeat. The loss drops the Hawks to 2-16 overall.
The Hawks opened strong in doubles play, securing the point with wins in two of the three matches. The pair of Georgios Tsioumas and Kalle Johanssen earned a 6-4 victory, while Bailey Liu and Guido Loayza followed with a 7-6 win to give Shorter the early 1-0 advantage.
In singles action, Kamron Palacios earned the lone victory for Shorter, posting an 8-3 win in his match. Despite the early momentum, Converse controlled the remainder of singles play, winning five matches to secure the 5-2 team victory.
