Box Score MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Shorter Women's Tennis team soared to their second straight win as they defeated Chowan on the road 5-2 Friday afternoon. The win improves the Hawks to 8-5 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
The Hawks earned the doubles point as
Sharick Guiza Hernandez and Laura Martin earned the 6-1 win to kick things off before
Lady-Ester Villanueva Rosado and
Sofia Arellano claimed the doubles point with a 6-4 win.
Shorter continued to control the narrative in singles action, as Hernandez battled hard, earning a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win. Villanueva-Rosado picked up where she left off, defeating her opponent in a 6-1, 6-4 win. Laura Martin and
Caroline Johnson put the finishing touches on the Hawks' win as Martin defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1, and Johnson with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
