ROME- The Shorter Hawks Baseball team opens up the 2026 campaign with a four-game slate against Kentucky State University this weekend.

The Hawks will play a doubleheader on both Friday and Saturday, with games one and two at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively. All games will have live stats available via StatBroadcast, and will be streamed on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network.

NOTES

• The Hawks ended the 2025 campaign with a 26-21 overall record, going 14-16 in conference play.
• Outfielders Tyler Zawacki and Will Fincher look to continue their success at the plate, as they led the Hawks in hitting in the 2025 season.
• Tyler Zawacki ended the 2025 season with a slash line of .364/.436/.642 (AVG/OBP/SLG), leading the team in all categories.
• Will Fincher led the Hawks in home runs, belting out 12 in the 2025 season.
• The Shorter Hawks were selected to finish 9th in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll.

• Kentucky State Baseball ended its 2025 season with an overall record of 3-38.
