Box Score 2 YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.- The Hawks battled with Young Harris on Saturday in the final two games of the series, but unfortunately dropped both contests.Â
GAME TWO
The Mountain Lions took charge early in game two with two RBI singles in the bottom of the first, followed by a nine-run bottom of the second to put Young Harris up 12-0 early on. Wilmer Henriquez was able to put the Hawks on the board at the top of the third with a base hit to left that would drive in Micah Shipman.
The Mountain Lions' offense would continue to surge, however, scoring five in the bottom of the fourth, which was contested by an RBI single from Jonathan Vigoa in the top of the fifth. Despite this, Young Harris would keep rolling with six more runs in the bottom half, followed by two more in the sixth to give the Mountain Lions the 25-2 victory in game two.
GAME THREE
Â
Young Harris would draw first blood in game three as well with a leadoff home run followed by a sac fly and an RBI double to give them the 3-0 lead in the first. Josh Tattershall would answer with a two-run homer of his own in the top of the fourth that drove in himself and Brooks McKenna. In the home half, the Mountain Lions countered with a solo shot, along with three more runs to put them ahead 7-2.
It was all Shorter in the fifth inning, though, with a pair of RBI singles courtesy of Wilmer Henriquez and Drake Cobb to cut the lead to three. Shorter landed another blow to open the seventh, this time Josh Tattershall connecting for an RBI single to make it a 7-5 ballgame. With the game just within reach, however, the Mountain Lions exploded offensively with an RBI single, a bases-loaded walk, a wild pitch, and a grand slam to leave the seventh inning up 14-5 on the Hawks. Young Harris tacked on one more run of insurance with a sac-fly in the very next frame to notch a final score of 15-5, sweeping the Hawks in the weekend slate.
