Box Score ROME- The Shorter Women's Tennis team defeated Georgia Southwestern University with a well-earned 6–1 victory on Friday afternoon.
Lady-Ester Villanueva Rosado and Sofia Arellano dominated their doubles match with a strong comeback, winning 6–3. Another comeback was secured by Sharick Guiza Hernandez and Laura Martin, who finished with a 6–4 victory, giving the Hawks the doubles point.
The dominance continued in singles play. Sharick Guiza Hernandez won her match 6–0, 6–7, and closed it out with a 10–5 super tiebreak victory. The Hawks continued to cruise as Sofia Arellano battled to a 7–5, 6–4 win. Laura Martin earned a 6–1, 7–6 victory, while Lady-Ester Villanueva Rosado defeated her opponent 6–3, 6–2. Caroline Johnson put the finishing touches on the match to secure the overall win for the Lady Hawks.
