ROME- The Shorter Hawks split their dual match Friday night against Emory & Henry and Montevallo, defeating the Wasps 35-12 before falling to the Falcons 44-5.
EMORY & HENRY
After falling in the first two bouts,
Riley Davis delivered a major performance in the 174-pound class, dominating his opponent with a crushing 22-2 fall victory to put the Hawks in prime position. Shorter would take the match after multiple forfeits from the visitors put it out of reach as Shorter grabbed the 35-12 win.
MONTEVALLO

Jonathan Fogus downed his opponent in the 157-pound class in a thrilling 17-0 tech fall victory that gave the Hawks some momentum. Shorter continued to battle, but could not convert as Montevallo walked away with a 44-5 win.
