GREENWOOD, S.C.- Brayden Gibson had a day for the Hawks in the NCAA Regionals, earning a qualification for the NCAA Division II Championships. The Hawks competed well in Regionals, earning 31.5 points as a team, placing eighth for the meet. 

Gibson represented the Hawks in the 141-pound class, placing third in his class after going 2-1 overall. Gibson earned an 11-6 decision win over UNC Pembroke before grabbing an 8-0 major decision win against Mount Olive that sent him to the third-place match, which he won in a narrow 7-6 fall win over King. 

Ethan Ross represented the Hawks well in the 149-pound division, battling hard against several quality opponents. Ross earned a 4-3 decision win over Coker in the consolation round after dropping his quarterfinals match. 

Armond Jones had a great showing in the 197-pound class, placing fourth overall. Jones earned a 6-4 decision win over Coker in the consolation round before two more decision wins to send him to the third-place match. Jones would come up short, but showed great effort throughout.

Brayden Gibson will represent the Hawks in the NCAA Championships on March 13.
