ROME, Ga.- To celebrate 20 years of Shorter football, Shorter Hawks athletics will be counting down the top ten moments in Shorter football history for the length of the season.
Shorter Football's Top 10 Moments: Hawks Drop School Record 58 Points on Clark Atlanta
The Shorter Football program had a historic day on November 2, 2013 when they dismantled Clark Atlanta in a 58-14 victory which set a new school record for most points in a game. The Hawks totaled 487 yards of offense, with 111 coming from the passing game and an astonishing 392 from the run attack. Quarterback Eric Dodson had a day for Shorter, going 4-6 with 111 passing yards and two touchdowns. Dodson also ran the ball 13 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns. Darius Turner had an impressive stat line on the receiving end, catching two passes for 94 yards with both receptions being touchdowns.
The Hawks defense was on full display, allowing only 152 yards of total offense. Shorter only gave up 50 passing yards while also recording a forced fumble and an interception. This victory would be the Hawks first victory of the 2013 season and it proved to be one of the most dominant offensiver showings in the program's twenty years of existence.
