ROME, Ga.- Shorter Softball head coach Kelsey Hogan announces the addition of Jessi Bruce to the coaching staff as an assistant coach. Bruce brings a wide- range of coaching experience and a passion for player development. Her primary focus will be overseeing pitchers.

"I am very thankful for the opportunity that Coach Kelsey has given me," said Bruce. "I am super excited to make an impact on the girls athletically and spiritually!"

"I'm thrilled to have Jessi join our staff," said Hogan. "Her experience and success at both the playing and coaching levels and her desire to develop athletes will be a huge asset to our team. I'm excited to see how she impacts our bullpen, student- athletes, program, and campus."

Previously, Bruce served as an assistant coach at Johnson University from 2021- 2023 and Kentucky Christian University from 2020-2021, where she oversaw pitching and player development within both programs. She was a graduate assistant coach at Williams Woods University for the 2019- 2020 season, earning her Master of Business Administration. Bruce also has a Master of Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University.

For the past four years, Bruce has been the head coach and manager for the TN Fury Platinum Bruce 18U travel team.

Bruce attended Darton State Community College for one year and then transferred to Cincinnati Christian University, graduating with her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2019.

During her time at Cincinnati Christian, Bruce logged 59 starts, 81 appearances, and 354.2 innings pitched. She recorded 264 strikeouts and holds the school record for most strike outs in a game (13). In her senior season, she finished with an ERA of 2.73 and was selected to the NCCAA Mid-West Region Team and the NCCAA All-Tournament Team.
