GREENVILLE, S.C.-
Charles Alia of the Shorter football program was announced as the Conference of the Carolina's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Hawks' 57-20 victory over Virginia-Lynchburg last Saturday.
Alia had a career day for the Hawks, running the ball nine times for 120 yards and a touchdown. Alia's big day was highlighted by an 89-yard rushing touchdown to start the offensive onslaught for the Hawks as they dropped the second most points in school history at 57 for the afternoon. Alia also totaled 90 kickoff return yards to gain 210 yards of offense for the Hawks. Alia's offensive production helped the Hawks attain 528 yards of total offense, their fourth most in school history.
Alia and the Hawks will have their conference opener and debut against Chowan this Saturday which marks Shorter's homecoming. Kickoff will take place at 12:00 PM.
