GREENVILLE, S.C.- The Shorter Wrestling program was picked to finish 13th in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll as announced by the league Thursday morning.
The Hawks received 50 points in the poll, just in front of Lincoln Memorial and Emory & Henry. Lander sits atop the poll at 195 points, receiving 13 first-place votes as Mount Olive and UNC Pembroke follow closely behind.
Sophomores
Ethan Ross (149 pounds),
Riley Davis (185), and
Eli Kimball (285 pounds) were selected as wrestlers to watch by the conference. The young trio is looking to help build off a solid 2024-25 campaign as well as foster in the second year of Shorter wrestling since 2016-17.
Head coach Andrew Colburn is looking to foster a young core and build on their first year of wrestling since 2016-17, which saw tremendous strides and growth from the program.
