Birmingham, Ala. -- Kade Kitchens earned the Hawks lone qualification to the DII National Championship, representing the team in the 165 weight class.

An All-American a year ago, the sophomore wasn't able to repeat the feat in 2017 as he dropped both of his matches on the first day of competition. He opened the day falling to Gabe Fogarty of St. Cloud State 10-4 and was eliminated after falling to Jason Buhr of Colorado Mesa 18-14.

He finishes the year with an overall record of 27-10.
