Somers, Wis. -- The Shorter wrestling team was back in action over the weekend, taking part in the Wisconsin Open hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Parkside; coming away with three top four finishes as 
Justin George finished first at 157, 
Kade Kitchens was second at 165 and 
James Corasaniti was fourth overall at 149.
 
In route to his first place finish, George went 4-0 on the day; opening the event with a 7-3 decision over Neil Clement of Minnesota State-Mankato. Before topping Craig Degreef 10-5, and earning the win over Johnny Porter of Chadron State via an injury default. George finished the day with a 10-7 decision win over Logan Saltou of Minnesota State-Mankato for first overall in 157 weight class.
 
Kitchens finished second overall at 165, tallying a 2-1 day. He received a bye to start the day, and recorded his first win for the event as he topped John Pint of Luther via fall in 1:35. Then went on to top Derrick Swaney of Marryville via tech fall (15-0), before falling to Alonzo Turner of Findlay 8-4 in the championship to take second place.
 
J. Corasaniti posted his best finish of the year, so far, turning in a fourth place finish in the 149 weight class. On the day, he went 3-2, opening the day with a loss to Sean Glasgow of Chadron State 7-3, before receiving a bye and tallying three consecutive wins to reach the third place match. His wins on the day came over Valentino Ortiz of Triton 13-6, Caleb Haskell of Chadron State 4-1, and via fall over Colby McIntire of Minnesota State-Mankato in 2:20. In the third place match he fell to Daniel Close of Minnesota State-Mankato 7-5 to take fourth place.
 
Both 
Kalvin Harris and 
Stephen Corasaniti competed for Shorter at 141, with each turning in a 2-2 day. 
Marlon Morales went 1-2 for the day at 174, and 
Bret Winters finished 2-2 at 285.
 
The Hawks will be back in action December 17, when they travel to Indianapolis to take part in the 38th Annual Midwest Classic hosted by UIndy.
