Montgomery, Ala. -- The Hawks fell to Valdosta State Saturday morning, 5-1, in the quarterfinal match at the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

Shorter finishes the season at 7-12 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

The Hawks lone win of the day came at number one doubles as Louis Tourtois and Alexis Catillon topped Edward Nguyen and Niklas Herbring 8-6, while the Blazers swept the remaining matches to earn the win and advance to the semifinals.
