ROME --Â Â Shorter tennis split the day with North Georgia Wednesday afternoon with the Lady Hawks topping the NightHawks 6-3, and the Hawks falling 9-0.
Shorter's women improve to 2-0 on the young season with the win, while the men even their record to 1-1.
The Lady Hawks got off to a strong start in doubles, sweeping the matches to take a 3-0 lead into singles.
Agnes Brun earned the win over Natalia Escobar with 6-4, 6-0 decisions.
Daniela Chipe defeated Simone Kong (7-5, 6-4), and
Sicquena Sinclair topped Nela Handac (6-1, 7-6) to give Shorter the win 6-3.
North Georgia cruised to the win on the men's side, sweeping all matches in route to the 9-0 victory.
Shorter will be back in action Friday as Auburn Montgomery visits the Rome-Floyd Tennis Center.
