Box Score 2 ROME--Baseball split the first two games with West Alabama Saturday afternoon, dropping the first 3-2 in ten innings and winning the second by a 1-0 final score.
The Hawks move to 9-23 on the season, and 6-12 in conference play.

Dustin Evans in the fourth, and tied the game in the ninth on a bases loaded walk to
Zach Santos to force extra innings. The Tigers held the Hawks scoreless in the top of the tenth, and earned the win on as Tanner Rainey scored on an error by
Bryan Mathews.
Rainey earned the win for West Alabama in game one; allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout and two walks in 2.0 innings of work.
Christian Champion picked up the loss; pitching one inning, while allowing one run on two hits.
In game two Mathew's sixth inning single to plate Evans proved to be enough as the Hawks earned the win 1-0.
Zach Whitaker earned the win for Shorter, allowing no runs on no hits with a walk over 0.2 innings of work in relief of starter
Justin Machado; who pitched 5.0 innings, allowing no runs on six hits with three strikeouts and four walks.
Russell Crosby earned his first save of the year. Zach Parks recorded the loss for the Tigers; allowing one run on eight hits with two strikeouts over a complete game performance.
Mathews finished the day with four hits and an RBI, while Evans finished with three hits and scored two runs.
