Box Score Pensacola, Fla.--Baseball fell to No. 2 West Florida in the final game of the series Sunday afternoon by a 1-0 final score. The loss drops the Hawks to 9-25 on the season and 6-15 in conference play.
The game remained scoreless until the eighth when Sean Plunkett delivered an RBI single to give the Argos a 1-0 lead. In the ninth, Shorter was retired in order preserving the win for West Florida.
Jordan DeLorenzo earned the win; pitching the complete game shutout, allowing two hits, with seven strikeouts.
Travis McPherson recorded the loss; allowing six hits, while striking out seventh through eight innings.
Dylan Riner and
Bryan Mathews each recorded a hit for the Hawks.
Shorter will return to action next weekend at home for a three game series beginning Friday, April 18, against Delta State at the Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex.
