ROME--Wednesday, Shorter tennis took to the court for the final time at home for the 2014 season. The Lady Hawks topped Dalton State, 8-1, the Hawks; however, fell to the Roadrunners, 5-4.
The women improved to 13-6 overall on the season with the win, while the men fall to 3-16. Both teams will close out the 2014 regular season at Gulf South Conference foe, Valdosta State Saturday, April 12.
The Lady Hawks, who now post a three game win streak, swept doubles to take, 3-0, lead into singles play. In singles, Shorter won 5-6 the six matches to seal the win.

In singles, however, Dalton State turned things around and earned the win by winning four of the six matches. Shorter recorded victories at No. 1 and No. 3 as Guerry (6-2, 7-6) and Catillon (6-3, 6-2) defeated Draghiceanu and Arguello, respectively.
