Box Score ROME--Shorter Baseball fell to Stillman College Tuesday afternoon at home, 11-1.
The loss drops the Hawks to 8-21 on the season, while the Tigers improve to 17-12.
Shorter scored first, with a run in the second inning as
Jesse Gavigan singled to plate
Bryan Mathews.
In the third, Stillman took the lead with five runs on five hits, and added to that in the fifth on a sacrifice fly. E.J. Perry doubled in the seventh to make it a 7-1 game, and Nick Boggs' grand slam in the eighth gave the Tigers the win, 11-1.
Jordan Mata earned the win for Stillman; allowing one run on five hits with five strikeouts over six innings of work.
Travis McPherson recorded the loss for the Hawks; pitching four innings, while allowing six runs on six hits with four strikeouts.

Ian Redetzky, and
Charlie Gillis each recorded a hit for Shorter.
The Hawks will be back in action this weekend as they travel to West Virginia to take on Davis & Elkins College and West Virginia Tech. Saturday, Shorter will play Davis & Elkins at 10 am followed by West Virginia Tech at 4pm, and Sunday the Hawks will play a single game against Davis & Elkins at 11 am.
