Full Men's Results

Florence, Ala.--
Friday, the Hawks and Lady Hawks travelled to Florence, Ala. to take on North Alabama in Gulf South Conference tennis action. Shorter's women came away victorious, 9-0; while the men fell, 5-4.

The Lady Hawks improved to 8-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Hawks fall to 1-10 on the season and 0-3 in the Gulf South.

The Lady Hawks have been dominant in conference play, earning a 9-0 win in three of the four conference matches they've played.

The Hawks just missed snapping a long skid that dates back to the first match of the season when they topped Gadsden State. Leading, 2-1, after doubles, Shorter's men were poised to do just that, but UNA won four of the six singles' matches to earn the win.

In doubles, the Hawks earned wins at two and three; Marc Guerry / Arturo Lifshitz won 8-4, and Robert Watson / Nikola Pavlovik won 8-6. In singles, Shorter earned wins at one and six as Guerry topped Guillaume Dechoz (4-6, 6-1, 6-1), and Watson defeated Jonathan Vick (6-2, 6-4).

Tennis will be back in action Wednesday, March 19, as Drury University visits the Walt Attaway Tennis Complex. Matches begin at 1pm.
