Tennis splits day with West Alabama

ROME--
Women's Tennis improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Gulf South Conference as they topped West Alabama 7-2 at home Saturday afternoon. While men's tennis went to 1-1 on the season, and 0-1 in the GSC as West Alabama swept the Hawks 9-0.

The Hawks, had a tough opponent in the Tigers; as West Alabama hasn't dopped a single match this season, and that streak continued againt Shorter. Sweeping double play, West Alabama put the match away in single and kept thier streak alive.

The Lady Hawks swept doubles play, to lead 3-0 going into singles. Candice Laurent (6-2, 6-1), Aurelie Gaborit (6-4, 6-2), Samya El Hsissen (6-2, 6-3), and Aurore Beltrando (8-6) each won their singles matches en route to the win.

Both, the Hawks and Lady Hawks will take on Christian Brothers Monday afternoon as the Bucs visit the Walt Attaway Tennis Complex.
